How to get red wine out of carpet?

How do i get out a red wine stain?
Simply do not  drink red wine inside your house if you want to drink it go outside. That is absolutely not the answer but is does sound a lot like what i would tell my kid when he wants to drink grape juice on the couch.  We obviously cant protect everything in our home from getting stains on it however what we can do is make sure we know how to take care of a wine stain when it happens.Like any stain the quicker you can remove it the better you will be able to get the stain out. There are so many calls we get from home owners who are devastated thinking they are going to have to get new carpet because of a red wine stain. Now this may seem a bit wild and well it is but it works. Here are the steps to take when you need to get red wine out of carpet or you need to get red wine out of and type of fabric.

Step 1: With a dry towel try to absorb all the excess wine that you can by dabbing the spot. Do not run the red wine stain and do not scrub the red wine stain. Now that all the excess red wine is absorbed into the towel go on to step 2.

Step 2: If you like your red wine i am also hoping you like your white wine because that is what you are going to need next. Pour white wine on the red wine stain and let it sit for 30 seconds. Take a new clean dry towel and dabbing the stain absorbing the white wine and you will see more red wine is now coming up as well. after you have absorbed all of the wetness from the white wine.... do it again.

Step 3: Now that most of the stain if not all of the stain is up using club soda or hydrogen peroxide repeat the process of step 2  using club soda to clean the red wine stain or the hydrogen peroxide to clean the red wine stain.
